Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree student scholarships (from 2015) - not applicable for the 2017-2019 edition

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree student scholarships will include the students' participation costs (including the tuition fees, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to the students' participation in the course), a contribution to student travel and installation cost as well as a subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme (until graduation - 24 months maximum). Details on the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree student scholarship amounts are given in the table below: 

Contribution to the participation costs

8,000 EUR per year for scholarship holders from a Partner Country 

4,000 EUR per year for scholarship holders from a Programme Country

Contribution to the travel and installation costs

1,000 EUR per year for scholarship holder residents of a Programme Country for travel costs

2,000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1,000 EUR for installation costs for scholarship holder residents of a Partner Country whose location is situated at less than 4,000 km from the EMJMD coordinating institution (Aalborg University)

3,000 EUR per year for travel costs + 1,000 EUR for installation costs for scholarship holder residents of a Partner Country whose location is situated at 4,000 km or more from the EMJMD coordinating institution (Aalborg University)

Contribution to subsistence costs

1,000 EUR per month for the entire duration of the EMJMD study programme (until graduation – 24 months maximum).

Contribution to subsistence costs will not be given to the scholarship holders for the EMJMD  periods(study /research /placement / thesis preparation) spent in their own country of residence, nor to scholarship holders from a Partner Country for the EMJMD periods spent in any Partner Country.

[1] Students who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in a Programme Country. The five-year reference period for this 12-month rule is calculated backwards as from the submission deadline defined by the consortia of applying for a EMJMD student scholarship. 

The actual amount of the individual scholarships will vary in accordance with: 

a) the EMJMD length (120 ECTS - a maximum of 24 months); 

b) the student country/region of residence; 

c) the EMJMD participation costs (see more under Participation costs).

 

Distance calculator

For grant support to travel costs in the Erasmus Mundus programme, travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator provided by the EACEA. Based on the distance expressed in km, the corresponding distance band must be chosen in the application and report forms.

Countries which do not participate fully in the Erasmus+ programme, but which may take part (as partners or applicants) in certain Actions of the Programme. The list of Erasmus+ Partner Countries is described below:

Southern Mediterranean Countries:

 * Following the announcement from the European Commission regarding Switzerland's participation in Erasmus+, Switzerland will now participate as a Partner Country under the Erasmus+ 2014 Call, rather than a Programme Country, pending an agreement between the EU and Switzerland.

All other countries in the world are able to participate (amounts and regulations as Partner Countries).
